FOG is a Linux based, free and open source computer cloning, imaging and rescue suite for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 and (in development) Windows 7. FOG allows Windows system administrators to clone images to clients (workstations) from a FOG server, over their network. Without the need for boot disks or ROMs. The server can be accessed through a php-based web interface. |

The Conficker (or Downadup) worm infected over 10 million Windows machines in the last few months. It exploits a bug in the Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008. The Romanian security vendor Bit Defender released a Downadup removal tool which will delete all versions and variations of Conficker/Downadup and is not detected by the virus (yet). |

Partition Image is a free Linux/UNIX utility similar to Norton Ghost (by Symantec). This uility saves partitions in the EXT2, Reiserfs, NTFS, HPFS, FAT16, and FAT32 file system formats to an image file. The image file can be compressed with gzip or bzip2 in order to save disk space, and it can be split in order to fit onto a series of floppy disks. |

BitlBee offers a way to connect to your various chat and instant messaging programs (IRC, ICQ, MSN, Jabber...) from a single text based console: an IRC to other chat networks gateway. It uses IM protocol bits from Gaim (which does stuff like that in X windows). |
